mean girls at the Buell theatre? that’s so fetch

looking to do something over weekend but are stuck on what you should do? well put on your pink and head to the buell theatre to watch “Mean Girls.”

Mean Girls” the musical is a stage adaptation of the 2004 movie and follows Cady Heron, played by Katie Yoeman’s, as she joins the crazy world of high school with new friends ,Janis and Damien, and runs into the plastics. The plastics are basically your popular girls who are led by the queen herself Regina. Along side her, she has the easier to please, Gretchen and the fan favorite, Karen. Cody falls for classmates, Aaron, who is Regina George’s ex boyfriend.

If you are a fan of the movie, than this is a must watch musical. It’s full of memorable moments, quotes and of course the characters that we love.

Now you’re asking yourself, “why should I watch this since I have the movie on my shelf?” Well glad you asked.

Mean Girls the musical is a fun and refreshing take on the story. The plot of the musical is very similar to the film, with of course a few tweaks. With an amazing set that transports you back to North Shore High School, amazing songs and dance numbers, it has something for everyone. The music is up beat and matches the characters very well, it will have you tapping your feet to the beat.

The musical keeps the core themes of the movie such as social pressures, bullying, and the struggle to fit in.

The musical keeps the characters you love like the queen bee, Regina George. As well as Cady’s best friends, Janice and Damien who have a lot more screen time than in the movie.

So don’t be lame and get those tickets at https://secure.denvercenter.org/overview/150 before they sell out!

Mean Girls is plays at the Buell Theatre in Denver, Colorado until March 2, 2025.

Saturday has a performance at 2:00pm that offers a ASL interpretation, audio description and open captioning.
